“Death may be the greatest of all human blessings.” -Socrates (469BC – 429BC)
I’m sure that many are aware of Socrates and his quest for knowledge. A quest which eventually led him along a path of which its’ destination ended with his trial, and death by hemlock. What brings me to the memory of this Ancient is fairly much the same coarse which takes me into the realms of many Ancients. Perhaps it was some journey into the past, various perceptions during some particular ritual or even something as unassuming as a period of deep meditation. Something takes on some form or another and one is suddenly, just there. Not here, but there.
Without previous intent of such, one such journey came to me last June. As unique as this ‘journey’ proved to be, its’ details and the nature of time and thought which have passed since, shall remain for the most part within the inner spirit where all such things must reside.
Such a journey does not come without its’ resulting effects, those ‘Pebbles in the Pond’ thing. Conversations suddenly dropped; spirit, physical and cyber sightings vanished into some unknown void, leaving behind barely a trace of previous existance. Some may call this that never-ending greater cycle of life. As someone once said, “Rumors of my demise have been greatly exaggerated”, and although the mortal shell is moving a bit slower these nights, the Inner Spirit and Mind remain fairly un-scathed. Of what remains and why, well, apparently the greater journey is not yet complete.
The Castle walls still stand, though in dire need of attention. Some close and dear Spirit friends will be aware of my presence soon. All else will come in its’ due time. To one and all …
